About the Role
The business is seeking an experienced Chair to guide a growing communications and event-tech organisation through its next phase of expansion. As Chair, you will provide strategic leadership, helping the board and executive team sharpen commercial focus, embed strong governance, and accelerate progress toward an ambitious enterprise value growth plan. This is a hands-on role for a leader who enjoys partnering closely with management while maintaining a clear, objective board-level perspective.
The Chair will act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership, shaping strategy, overseeing performance, and ensuring the organisation is positioned for scalable, sustainable growth. Working with private equity investors, you will help professionalise processes, support international expansion, and play a key role in value creation as the business moves through a pivotal inflection point.
Requirements
Demonstrable experience leading or chairing private equity–backed organisations through periods of growth, transformation, or value realisation.
A background in communications, marketing services, professional services, or technology-enabled audience engagement.
Strong strategic capability and a collaborative, influential leadership style that can support, challenge, and develop a collegiate management team.
Commercially minded, data-literate, and comfortable guiding businesses where digital, insight-led propositions are central to market differentiation.
About the Company
The company is an established provider of communication-led event solutions, delivering live, hybrid, and digital experiences for major corporate and public-sector clients. Originating in the 1970s as a traditional events specialist, the organisation has evolved into a data-driven strategic communications partner that helps clients achieve measurable audience engagement outcomes. With a core team of around 35 employees and additional contract resource, the business combines creative, technical, and analytical expertise.
Its proposition centres on blending behavioural insights, analytics, and technology with high-quality event design and delivery. Offerings span hybrid and in-person events, digital engagement platforms, audience profiling tools, and integrated content solutions that link communications activity to business objectives. This digitally enabled approach distinguishes the company from conventional event agencies and positions it strongly within a market increasingly focused on ROI, personalisation, and employee engagement.
Backed by private equity, the organisation is now pursuing an ambitious growth strategy. Plans include expanding internationally, diversifying its client base, and continuing to develop its insight-led products and services. With revenue growth accelerating and breakeven in sight, the business is at a strategic juncture—making this Chair appointment both influential and central to unlocking the next stage of value creation.
