Interim CEO / CRO / Transformation Leader | PE Turnaround, Operating Model Redesign & Complex Restructuring
This executive brings extensive experience leading transformation and turnaround programmes where the requirement is to move quickly from diagnosis into delivery. Their career spans senior operational roles within international corporates, PE-backed businesses and major consulting firms, giving them the ability to operate effectively with boards, investors, lenders, executives and delivery teams. They are particularly strong in ambiguous or distressed environments where governance, strategy, operating model and leadership alignment need to be rebuilt at pace.
They have significant private equity experience, including COO leadership in an investor-backed technology and data business, turnaround reviews for PE-owned companies, pre-deal and post-deal operational diligence, value creation planning and post-merger integration. Their work has included supporting successful exits, refinancing processes, acquisition synergy identification and operational improvement across portfolio companies. They understand the urgency, financial discipline and stakeholder expectations of PE-backed environments, and are comfortable working directly with investment teams and portfolio leadership.
Well suited to interim CEO, CRO, COO, Chief Transformation Officer or operating model transformation roles, they bring a blend of strategic judgement, restructuring experience and practical delivery capability. Their ability to stabilise complex organisations, reshape operating models and align stakeholders around a credible execution plan makes them particularly valuable for PE-backed businesses or complex organisations facing performance pressure, leadership transition or strategic reset.
As COO of a PE-backed weather technology and data services business, defined and implemented a new operating model, reduced headcount by more than 20%, supported a successful sale and led integration into the acquiring business.
Defined a turnaround plan for a distressed mid-market PE-owned data and events company, identifying actions to reduce costs, integrate acquisitions, improve customer service and restart growth.
Led the operational turnaround of a distressed offshore oil and gas engineering business, securing lender syndicate buy-in, reducing headcount by more than 40% and supporting a successful $800m refinancing.
As Turnaround Director, led successful recovery programmes across highly distressed international subsidiaries, including operations in India, China and Australia, with one programme increasing EBIT margin by eight percentage points.
